I used to hate running, but since I was diagnosed in 2003 I've become an avid runner. I found Insulindependence in 2009 and after supporting the organization at two Carlsbad Half Marathons, I decided to become an iD Captain in order to support its mission and spread its philosophy. I hope to be able to attract local athletes with diabetes to come out for Dawn Phenom events and to encourage children with diabetes to enjoy an active lifestyle as part of managing and controlling diabetes.
