When I was first diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, I was fortunate enough to be a part of a group of adults and peers who shared my disease, issues and challenges. At this time, the common refrain for the prognosis of children with type 1 was doom and gloom. This group of people said, "Take care of your health and you can do anything." It was this message that I carried with me through my teen years and into adulthood. I've been a runner for more than 10 years. I've run a marathon and a handful of half marathons. There are years that I've had great fun running and years that I've had not so much fun. I'm ready again to have fun running! That's why I decided to become a Glucomotive captain. Join me and let's have some fun.
